Transition in the greater Los Angeles area is taking place via a number of local "pods."  (What is a pod?)  Local pods might offer awareness-raising films and community discussions, reskilling classes, physical projects, and working groups. 

The TLA City Hub facilitates communication between the various local pods.  At the City Hub level, we offer leadership meetings, conferences, and trainings.  We have a speaker's bureau of people available who make presentations to groups in the Southern California area.  (more about Transition Los Angeles)

In the Santa Monica area, the Transition process is in-formation. There are several ways to connect with local people.

• The Westside Permies is a large Permaculture-oriented group that does physical projects, particularly related to edible landscapes. They gather somewhat monthly for speakers and films at the Santa Monica Public Library.
• Transition Santa Monica on WiserEarth is a small group which seeks to connect people who want to pursue the Transition process.
